1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "Student", or "Hostel Manager") and CampusDwelling ("Platform", "we", "our", or "us").
By registering an account, accessing our site, reserving accommodation, or listing property on CampusDwelling, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must immediately discontinue use of the platform.
2. User Roles & Account Eligibility
CampusDwelling accommodates distinct user categories:
- Students: Individuals seeking verified campus housing. Students must provide truthful profile information during account registration and verification.
- Hostel Managers: Property owners or designated managers listing student accommodations. Managers undergo verification prior to managing hostel room inventories.
- Administrators: Platform moderators overseeing ecosystem compliance and security.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities occurring under your account.
3. Room Bookings & Partial Payment Policy
CampusDwelling enables seamless room reservations with flexible payment options where enabled by Hostel Managers:
- Full Payments: Students may pay the full room fee at the time of booking.
- Partial Installment Payments: Where a hostel permits partial payments, students may select a minimum installment percentage (e.g. 30%, 50%, 70%, 90%, 100%) configured by the Hostel Manager.
- Minimum Amount Enforcement: The initial payment amount entered by the student must be at or above the minimum required percentage calculated from the room fee. Both frontend and backend systems strictly enforce this minimum threshold.
- Installment Deadlines: When making a partial payment, the student agrees to settle the remaining balance within the specified deadline period (in days) configured by the hostel manager.
- Third-Party Processing: All financial transactions are processed securely via authorized third-party payment gateways.
4. Hostel Manager Listings & Verification
Hostel Managers listing accommodations on CampusDwelling represent and warrant that:
- They possess lawful authority and required municipal licenses to lease out listed properties.
- All room photos, amenities, prices, bed capacities, and partial payment rules accurately reflect physical property conditions.
- They will honor valid student booking reservations generated through the platform.
- Verification badges assigned to hostels indicate platform compliance screening but do not transfer property liability to CampusDwelling.
5. Student Conduct & Tenancy Obligations
Students reserving housing agree to:
- Comply with all rules, occupancy guidelines, and noise standards established by the respective hostel manager.
- Refrain from submitting fraudulent bookings, fake identity credentials, or unauthorized payment links.
- Respect room capacity limits (e.g. bed space allocations per room) and avoid unauthorized subletting.
6. Cancellations, Overdue Payments & Flagging
In the event a student makes a partial payment and fails to clear the outstanding balance prior to the expiration of the deadline period:
- The system will automatically flag the booking as OVERDUE and notify the respective Hostel Manager.
- Hostel Managers reserve the right, according to their property policy, to re-allocate un-cleared bed spaces or enforce deposit forfeiture rules for defaulted balances.
- Refunds for cancelled or defaulted bookings are subject to the specific hostel refund terms disclosed at the time of booking.
